Extended school year (ESY) waiver: After opening a public hearing at 6:47 p.m. and receiving no public comment, the board approved a waiver that reduces the number of ESY days while preserving the same total minutes of instruction (the ESY calendar will align with the general summer program). The motion passed 3-0.
Contracts and policy approvals: The board unanimously renewed its annual auditing contract with Moss Landing and Hartnell (staff said the cost is the same as the prior year and will be documented at the next meeting), ratified a CBO consulting contract with Kenneth Dwayne Wagemott not to exceed $10,000 through the end of the fiscal year, and approved CSBA-recommended manual policy maintenance updates to ensure state compliance. The board also approved a Gold Coast Plumbing Services quote to install two filtered, chilled bottle-filling stations at McKinnon Elementary, funded from cafeteria funds, at a cost just under $15,000; the motion passed 3-0.
Next steps: Staff said it will provide additional cost documentation for recurring contracts at a future meeting. The board set its next regular meeting for April 22, 2026 and adjourned.
