Meeting minutes indicate the total grant is $145,400. The board approved a Seven Generations Ahead contract for approximately $68,500 and an Urban Efficiency Group LLC contract for $38,500; both approvals carried 4–0. Village staff said the consultants will draft an energy plan and convene a review team that includes the Broadview Alliance for Sustainability, monthly stakeholder meetings with business representatives, and participation from Broadview young scholars.
Officials framed the work as part of a regional push among C4 communities to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions; staff said the plan will serve as a model that other nearby municipalities can adopt. The board did not request substantive amendments during discussion and recorded unanimous votes to proceed with both consulting contracts.
Next steps include consultant onboarding, public and stakeholder review sessions and a special review session toward the end of the project to consider the draft energy plan.
