Near the end of the public meeting a board member moved that the board go into executive session “to discuss matters that the immediate knowledge of which would clearly have an adverse effect on the finances of the school district.” The motion was seconded, the board voted by voice and the motion passed. The board indicated the executive session was expected to last 5–10 minutes unless more time was needed.
The meeting record shows these procedural votes but no formal roll‑call tallies were read into the public record for the voice votes. The public portion of the meeting then ended and the board entered executive session as stated.
