Trustees face sustained questioning on budgets, commissions and transparency at community forum

Trustees said an ordinance restricts residents from serving on more than one commission and that they are considering making Villa Fest a subcommittee under the Fund Commission; the board said details and budget allocations will be clarified when the commission is formally established. Commissioners asked that the village post one-page synopses of each commission’s activities, goals and timelines and update them monthly.
Several residents asked about the pool fund, summer-event budgets, and how TIF or grant monies might be used. Trustees said those topics will be addressed once commissions and budget details are finalized and pledged to provide more public-facing information on project pages and the village website.
Next steps: trustees asked residents to file service and information requests via the website form for faster response; they also said staff would prepare commission synopses and post clearer project updates online.
