Harbor master reports cracks in Cell 11 and spring harbor updates; aging report update to include totals

The Harbor Master reported routine spring harbor updates and infrastructure concerns during the Ports & Harbors Advisory Committee meeting. He said all launch ramps are open, floats are in at the Letnikoff launch, restrooms are open and the cruise ship dock is preparing for its first seasonal call (the Silver Whisper, expected May 15). New harbor rates are posted and water service to the main floats is being restored.
The Harbor Master also alerted the committee to growing structural deterioration at Lutak/Lutec: “The crack under Cell 11 has expanded over the course of the last year from 5 feet tall and, you know, roughly 4 inches wide to easily 6 inches wide and 11 feet tall,” he said, and staff noted they are monitoring the area daily. Committee members asked for clarification about which areas are currently in operation and were told that some shore‑side areas are closed off for safety and that operators are required to sign waivers to operate in that zone.
On the monthly aging report (accounts over 60 days), a committee member asked why the report lacked a single total line. The Harbor Master agreed to add a total — either the over‑60 total or a grand total — on future reports to improve clarity for committee review.
No formal action was taken on these operational items; staff asked the public to report harbor items that need attention and said the projects list is publicly available for review.
