The Roseland governing body voted to introduce two ordinances at its Jan. 21 meeting and scheduled public hearings for both on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025.
Mr. Watkins read Ordinance 1-22 by title as "an ordinance of the Borough in the County of Essex, State of New Jersey amending and supplementing the Borough code to amend Chapter 2 entitled Administration, section 2-24 entitled Department of Police." The council moved to introduce the ordinance, the motion carried, and the borough will publish notice and post the ordinance on its website.
Mr. Watkins then read Ordinance 2-22 by title, described as amendments to Chapter 17 (Water and Sewer) "to correct the formula for determining the leak rate and to amend various fees." The council moved to introduce that ordinance as well; it was ordered posted and a public hearing was set for Feb. 11, 2025.
Both items were introduced by motion and will return to the governing body for public hearings and further action after notice and publication.
