Committee votes to align stakeholder appointments to December; updates due for Dec. 15 County Commission packet

“Motion on the table is to update the record that appointees will be made in December of every year, taking action or assuming those roles in January, to align with Burleigh County,” a committee member said. The motion received a second and passed on a roll call. Steve called the roll and members recorded “yes” votes, after which the chair declared the motion adopted.
Committee members also reviewed a draft report and slides intended for the Dec. 15 County Commission packet and requested updates before submission. A member questioned why the slide deck used an Aug. 2024 fund-balance figure; committee members noted withdrawals of about $50,000 (corrected in discussion to $57,000) and asked staff to provide an updated balance for the packet.
A committee member challenged wording in the draft stating the JoAnn Hetzler Memorial Building “was donated,” saying, “It actually wasn’t donated. We sold it to them.” Members agreed to correct the language in the report to avoid a misleading impression.
Votes at a glance: the appointment-scheduling motion passed by roll call (members listed as voting yes in the transcript). The Nov. 19 meeting minutes were approved earlier by voice vote.
