At the meeting, a resident named Mark described a near collision with a stroller and urged the commission to move forward with calming measures.
"We actually almost got sideswiped with our stroller as we were coming up that street," Mark said, explaining his support for immediate interventions.
Some commissioners said the package felt large and asked staff to break the work into phases or provide more street‑by‑street cost and impact details; staff said similar neighborhood packages have been implemented previously and that the stop‑sign schedule update would be the primary council action. The commission voted to forward the package 4-0 with one abstention recorded for Commissioner Hotly.
Next steps: staff will update the stop‑sign resolution and execute work orders for signs, striping and vegetation trimming; staff also said construction of RRFBs and other capital improvements will follow standard project delivery steps.
