The Elk Grove Unified board approved several fiscal and property actions at the meeting.
Dr. Coats presented background on a 10.01-acre parcel (APN1320050174) at Ashler Drive and Terara Franka Way that the district intends to acquire for the new Arbor Ranch Elementary School. A Phase I environmental site assessment submitted to the Department of Toxic Substances Control found no further action required, and staff said the acquisition aligns with local plans. The board adopted Resolution No. 5, evaluating the property under the state site selection criteria, approving the purchase agreement and finding the acquisition exempt from SQA; the motion carried unanimously.
The board also ratified a tentative agreement between EGUSD and the California School Employees Association (CSEA) for the 2024–25 and 2025–26 school years. Mr. Riley noted the agreement had been ratified by CSEA members and that an AB 1200 fiscal review by the Sacramento County Office of Education will determine the budgetary impact; trustees approved the tentative agreement unanimously.
Financial staff presented the district's 2024–25 unaudited actuals. Miss Watkins summarized key figures: 91% of general fund revenue from state sources, 77% of spending on salaries/benefits, an unrestricted ending general fund balance of approximately $69 million and restricted balances held for multi-year grants (notably expanded learning, arts/ VAPA, and learning recovery). The board approved the unaudited actuals and adopted Resolution No. 13 establishing the 2025–26 GANN appropriation limit. No votes opposed these items.
All of the above motions were recorded as carried unanimously; staff will follow up with county and state reviewers as required.
