Libby council promotes officer to sergeant and recognizes two Eagle Scouts

Mayor Taylor read a certificate promoting Officer Don Luthie to sergeant in recognition of 28 years of service, including two years with the City of Libby. Luthie and his wife came forward for a badge-pinning and received the council's congratulations.
The council also presented certificates to two Eagle Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 1971. Dominic Tom, who attained Eagle Scout on Jan. 5, 2025, led a volunteer project to clean and restore veterans’ and community headstones at the local cemetery, contributing more than 120 volunteer hours. Warren Pollson, who attained Eagle Scout on Dec. 9, 2024, led a project to improve a park walking trail and contributed more than 100 volunteer hours. Mayor Taylor said the city would ensure both recipients receive their certificates.
The recognitions were ceremonial and required no formal council action.
