Kenny then recited the oath: “I Jody Kenny do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States the Constitution of the United States and the constitution of the state of New Jersey … and that I will faithfully impartially and justly perform all the duties as councilwoman to the best of my ability so help me God.” The assembly applauded following the oath.
The swearing-in occurred at the opening of the meeting; the council then proceeded to organization items, including leadership nominations and routine business.
