Members discussed the increasing sophistication of phishing attempts and the cybersecurity risks facing municipalities and public organizations.
Executive Director Charlie Baker said CCRPC staff have been working with IT consultants to improve cybersecurity and increase employee awareness. The committee discussed the need for heightened controls and training for municipal and regional entities to reduce risk of future fraudulent payments.
