CCRPC to split Transportation Program Director duties among staff; bylaws and personnel policies may be revised

Charlie Baker reported that after interviewing candidates for the Transportation Program Director position, staff recommended redistributing the duties between current employees — specifically Bryan Davis and Jason Charest — rather than filling the role externally. Baker said staff survey feedback and workload concerns for senior transportation staff informed the decision and that an organizational restructuring plan is under review.
Baker said the restructuring could require changes to job descriptions and therefore amendments to the CCRPC personnel policy; he also noted planned personnel policy updates related to cybersecurity, information technology and artificial intelligence practices will be brought to the committee in July. Jeff Carr observed that if the bylaws assume a single Transportation Planning Director position, formal bylaw amendments may be necessary to align governance documents with the new structure.
