The Absecon City Council voted to accept the June 6, 2024 closed-session minutes (as to form and content) and the June 20, 2024 regular meeting minutes, with several members recording abstentions on the closed-session minutes.
Council President called for committee updates after the vote. Councilman D. Rose provided a Public Safety calendar update noting the next committee meeting is Aug. 5 at 6:00 p.m. and that staff recently addressed residential concerns. The police chief reported a new officer has begun the field-training program.
Council members also thanked volunteers and staff for progress on a community garden and described ongoing park programming. Councilman Light thanked Absecon Veterinary Hospital for hosting a facility tour and announced the city will stop using Zoom for council meetings and will post recorded meetings on YouTube to create an accessible archive.
The meeting then moved to departmental reports and public comment.
