The Superintendent reminded attendees that Oct. 16 is the California Great ShakeOut and said all district schools and the district office will take part in an earthquake drill that Thursday. He framed the drill as a routine preparedness activity for the district.
He also noted that it is administrators week and the last week of the month is principal appreciation month, urging staff and community members to thank principals, assistant principals and the many behind-the-scenes employees who support schools, including student nutrition, grounds, maintenance, finance, human resources and learning-and-development staff.
The superintendent framed these acknowledgments as part of sustaining the district’s work to serve students and encouraged continued recognition of school leaders and support staff. No formal personnel actions or policy changes were proposed during the remarks.
