The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5432 presented its National Law Enforcement Award to Chief of Police Hector Maniac at the Village of Corrales council meeting.
Steve Marsh, commander of the Corrales VFW post, and Terry Brown, senior vice commander, introduced the award and read the citation praising Chief Maniac’s “dedication and selfless service” and noting “the admiration and respect of both his peers and the local public that he serves.”
Chief Maniac accepted the award and said it reflected the work of the whole department and the support of mayor, administration, council and citizens.
The council congratulated the chief and recognized the department’s role in parade planning and other community activities.
