Business Improvement District board elects officers, approves minutes and first MainStreet payment

The Business Improvement District board in Fremont on Jan. 20 approved its Dec. 16, 2025 minutes, elected officers for 2026 and authorized the first quarterly payment under its MainStreet contract.
Howard Krasne moved to approve the Dec. 16 minutes; Daniel Cech seconded and the motion carried 6–0. Krasne then moved a slate of officers nominating Tom Coday as chairman, J.J. Bixby as vice-chair and Roxie Kracl as secretary; Daniel Cech seconded and the board approved the nominations on a 6–0 vote.
Chairman Tom Coday announced the board had received a resignation letter from Sam Heineman, who will be traveling during the first quarter and therefore unable to participate; Coday said Heineman is willing to continue assisting on specific items he had been handling with board member Howard Krasne. The board took no formal action on the vacancy at the meeting.
On budget business, the board discussed the 2026 contract with MainStreet totaling $7,500 for the year and voted to issue the first of four quarterly payments. Daniel Cech moved to cut a $1,875 check to MainStreet; Brenden Murray seconded and the motion carried 6–0.
The meeting concluded after routine announcements; Brenden Murray moved to adjourn, Berta Quintero seconded, and the board adjourned at 12:41 p.m. The next regular meeting is set for Feb. 17, 2026 at the Fremont Art Association.
