During the May 20 meeting the board adopted three formal resolutions and approved related procedural directions.
The board unanimously adopted Resolution No. 37 (2024–2025) recognizing National Teacher Day and Resolution No. 38 (2024–2025) recognizing Classified School Employee Week (May 18–24). Trustees publicly thanked certificated and classified employees for their service.
The board also approved Resolution No. 39 to reestablish the Rancho Education Foundation. Legal staff explained the foundation’s tax status is currently suspended and that reactivation requires filings and potentially revised bylaws. The board authorized the superintendent to identify two staff members and asked trustees to nominate two community representatives; trustees asked staff to return next month with a transparent nomination process and an annual reporting expectation for the foundation.
Votes at a glance: All three resolutions passed on unanimous voice/roll‑call votes (5–0). The board asked administration to circulate the foundation’s bylaws and provide a recommended process for nominations and filings.
