He told commissioners: "You don't get a second chance to sell your land. You get one chance and if you don't reinvest that in your infrastructure, it's going to be gone."
Commissioner Kasaboon and Vice Mayor Watson also thanked staff and family members for their support and expressed optimism about the incoming commission. Speakers named a number of staff and consultants in their remarks, including redevelopment attorneys Nick Strasser and Connor Kimell, engineer Wayne Johnson, business administrator Joe Couchy, and CFO Trisha McGee.
The comments emphasized continuity on major capital projects, the need for careful stewardship of impending revenue from sales and development, and gratitude to volunteers—remarks that closed the public portion of the meeting before a motion to adjourn.
