Salisbury council honors Delegate Sheree Sample Hughes and disability advocate Dominique Sessa

The Salisbury City Council used part of its March 30 special session to recognize two local women for Women’s History Month.
Sheree Sample Hughes, introduced by the council as a long-serving public official who began on the Wicomico County Council in 2006 and now serves as a state delegate, received a Certificate of Recognition highlighting her "outstanding leadership, dedication, and service to Maryland's Eastern Shore." Hughes thanked the council, noted her children and family were present, and said she needed to leave for an 8 p.m. session in Annapolis.
Dominique Sessa was introduced as an accessibility advisor and founder of a digital advocacy platform dedicated to uplifting disabled girls and women; the council presented her a Certificate of Recognition for her work in accessibility, empathy education and community leadership on the Eastern Shore.
Both recognitions were accompanied by applause and brief remarks. The ceremonial presentations occupied the early portion of the special session before the council moved into its formal agenda.
