Council awards $2.52 million package of 2026 street projects to Ulen Brothers

Public Works/engineering staff Steven Lang reported the bid package included projects on 8th Street Southeast, 7th Avenue Southwest, 8th Avenue Southwest, 26th Street Southwest (mill and overlay), 9th Avenue Northwest (full reconstruction), and 5th and 7th Streets Northwest (full reconstruction). The award amount was approximately $300,000 below the city engineer’s estimate, and staff said funding will come from local funds (fund 49, 161 and 67) with assessments to adjacent property owners where applicable.
Council members had no questions and approved the resolution by roll call.
The contract award directs staff to finalize awarding documents and proceed to execution and project scheduling in accordance with the 2026 CIP.
