Resident presses council to fix recurring Darling Street stormwater and sewer backups

"This situation is now a problem spring, summer, fall, and winter," McTavish said, asking the city to address both the drainage and the sewer-line connection issues because they are linked.
Council and administration acknowledged the problem and said DPW had begun work (including placing heavy gravel in the basin) but that additional measures are needed. Administrator Charles McCormack said he would begin the administrative process to investigate and coordinate remediation the next day.
Next steps: administration will review sewer-line connections, inspect the stormwater basin and coordinate repair or mitigation work; residents will be informed of findings and planned fixes.
