Committee narrows interior finish options; firefighters to choose between two palettes

Design staff presented three packages (A: red highlights; B: earth tones with green/yellow accents; C: sea‑foam/green). Committee members discussed durability, how interior finishes will read from the lobby and the visual relationship to the building’s exterior brick and green window frames. The architects showed carpet, tile, maple cabinetry and apparatus-bay floor samples and explained that apparatus-bay floor color is a separate decision from the overall palette.
The committee moved and seconded a motion to allow firefighters to choose between options A and B (and the associated bathroom finish selections) and to release the clear-finish maple doors to the contractor. The motion passed by voice vote.
