She noted the proclamation largely mirrors language the board adopted in prior years and calls on residents to learn about light pollution and steps to reduce it.
A board member moved to adopt the proclamation, another seconded, and the chair called the vote. "All those in favor? Aye." The chair announced the motion carried unanimously.
The town manager and staff said the town will post the proclamation online and publicize it through social channels and the town newsletter to encourage compliance with the outdoor‑lighting bylaw adopted in 2023.
