TAC approves four bridges and an interstate ramp safety project for the draft TIP; also OKs two bridge funding adjustments

The regional Technical Advisory Committee voted to add four bridge projects to the draft 2027–2030 Transportation Improvement Program and separately approved an interstate ramp safety project for Erie County.

Staff identified the four bridge locations proposed for PE funding (SR 2003 Main Street over French Creek; SR 47 over Walnut Creek; SR 3015 over I‑90; SR 2022 over Baskin Run) with PE amounts generally in the $200,000–$400,000 range and anticipated lettings around 2029–2030. The safety project on an Erie County interstate ramp was described as signage, overhead warnings, lighting improvements and line painting with PE estimated at $20,000 and construction at $261,000. The committee held two separate voice votes — one to add the four bridges and one to add the safety project — and the motions passed by vocal assent.

Separately, the committee approved two subcommittee items tied to bridge contracts. One was a $55,622 net increase to the Himrod Bridge contract stemming from two change orders: removal of an unforeseen buried structure ($5,676) and additional piling depth ($49,944). The second approved action assigned $568,236 in construction funds for the Donation Road Bridge; staff said that amount was about $200,000 less than an earlier estimate and improved near‑term cash flow for the program.

The motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the transcript records vocal "aye" responses rather than a roll-call tally. Staff indicated the TAC and the technical committee (TAC) had previously recommended approval of the Himrod change order and Donation Road assignment.

Next steps: Programming staff will update the TIP and project tracking to reflect the approved additions and funding adjustments; members were reminded that larger TIP programming (the draft 2027–2030) continues through central office review before public comment.
