The county board of supervisors agreed to waive its interest as a listed beneficiary, and the council approved three motions on the item: approval of the purchase-and-sale agreement, acceptance of the memorandum of understanding with Nevada County, and adoption of Resolution 2025-12 to accept the grant deed. Each motion carried on 5-0 roll call votes.
Council members and community speakers described the foundry as an essential cultural asset. Staff emphasized that day‑to‑day activity should continue as patrons expect — weddings, performances and community programs — while the city develops an operations plan intended to return the enterprise fund to financial sustainability.
Next steps: staff will complete the personnel transitions, finalize the property transfer and continue community input on programming and preservation actions.
