Students showcase VAPA work; Tech Squad describes Cisco trip and STEM inspiration

At the start of the Buena Park School District meeting trustees and the superintendent highlighted the district’s visual and performing arts (VAPA) showcase, saying the event drew large community turnout and showcased TK–8 student performances and artwork.
Board members and district staff praised the coordination across schools. “Our students represented a wide variety of disciplines from visual arts [to] musical theater… the event went not only smoothly, but you saw the excitement on the students’ faces,” said the superintendent during remarks about the showcase.
Students from the Tech Squad presented a short video and described a trip to Cisco in San Francisco. One student said the visit helped clarify career interests: “Before I went to Cisco, I really didn’t know what I was gonna do. But when I went there, it really helped me learn that I wanted to do something in technology.” The students described hands‑on activities, meetings with industry experts and increased interest in STEM pathways.
District leaders said they will share a highlight video of the VAPA showcase and continue to support career exposure opportunities that connect classroom learning to industry.
