Committee advances mini-truck measure and private K9 retirement fund

The committee also approved House Bill 990, which sets up a privately funded donation mechanism at CJCC to assist retired law-enforcement K9s; the sponsor and committee emphasized that no state tax dollars would be used and that donations would come from private individuals or charities. Both measures passed the committee unanimously and will be carried to the Senate floor by designated senators.
