Commissioners approve resolution to sell Lacey and Pleasanton industrial park parcels at appraised value

The Linn County Board of Commissioners voted to adopt Resolution 2026-08, authorizing the county to sell parcels in the Lacey and Pleasanton industrial parks at appraised market value.

County staff presented exhibits listing all parcels available for sale and explained the resolution requires an official appraisal to establish market value before listing a fixed price. The board directed staff to obtain certified appraisals for the parcels, run a notice in the newspaper for two weeks, and coordinate with Lacey planning and zoning to notify local officials. Commissioner Jacqueline noted the parcels will be listed at the appraised price and the county may negotiate offers once they are received.

Staff also discussed logistical options for marketing the properties, including using a real-estate agent or running a public advertisement; the board did not mandate use of an agent. The resolution clarifies that listing at a fixed, appraised price is an alternative to a public auction, which would be required if parcels were listed without an appraised value.

Next steps spelled out by the board include hiring or contracting an appraiser, publishing the public notice as directed, and returning to the commission with appraisal results and any offers. The board instructed staff to email the resolution and related documentation to Zach Matthys at Lacey planning and zoning for coordination.
