Mayor’s office announcements included a free premiere screening of a Michael Jackson film at the Mark Spencer Theater at Westside High School (two free tickets per household; children to be prioritized), events related to down‑payment assistance for prospective homeowners (Gary was selected as one of eight U.S. cities for a program the city encouraged residents to explore) and the mayor’s annual State of the City address on April 28 at "Emities of Christ." Officials cautioned residents about ticket scams and said tickets will be available through city social media channels and the city website.
