Committee approves one-year food-service license at Calf Pasture and Shady Beach for CB Beach LLC

The Norwalk Recreation and Parks Committee unanimously authorized Mayor Barbara C. Smith to execute a one-year food and beverage license with CB Beach LLC to operate a food trailer at Calf Pasture and Shady Beach for the coming season while staff negotiates a longer-term contract.
Staff said four vendors responded to this spring’s RFP and that a selection committee including representatives from Recreation and Parks, DPW operations and purchasing reviewed submissions. Two finalists were interviewed and CB Beach LLC was chosen as the best fit for Norwalk; the one-year license will allow food service to continue while attorneys negotiate a longer-term arrangement.
Committee members asked about the number of applicants and the selection process. Staff confirmed the committee reviewed qualifications, experience and proposed financial return to the city during selection. The committee approved the one-year license unanimously.
Next steps: staff will finalize the one-year permit and continue work toward a multi-year agreement to return to the committee for approval.
