Ann Arbor District Library and local groups announce Visions 2026 and accessibility programming

Eddie Mitch, speaking for the library’s services for blind and physically disabled patrons, described three upcoming events: "Acting Out Ann Arbor" on April 10 (6–7:30 p.m.), "Inside the Local Music Community" on April 14 (6–7:30 p.m.), and the Visions 2026 vendor fair on June 3 (11 a.m.–4 p.m.) at the downtown library. Mitch also promoted the National Library Service’s BARD audiobook service and recommended specific titles now available to patrons.
Andrea Henry of the Disability Network described a theater program for ages 14 and up that meets Thursdays April 2 through May 21 (3:30–5:00 p.m.), an open-call art exhibition with a May 17 deadline, and the ADA anniversary celebration on July 25. Commissioners discussed staffing a Visions table; Vice Chair Zach Damon said the commission will register a table and asked volunteers to submit names and dietary restrictions for lunch provided by the library. Commissioners suggested offering printed application slips and a QR code linking to the boards-and-commissions application to recruit new members.
No funding decisions were made at the meeting; the library and Disability Network provided dates, contact information, and volunteer-signup instructions for the events described.
