Chelsea licensing panel approves Coffee Glow food‑truck license for 2nd and Broadway

The Chelsea Licensing Commission voted March 19 to approve a mobile food operation license for Coffee Glow, allowing the business to operate at 2nd Street and Broadway under the city’s parking-enforcement plan.
Monica Orozco, the owner of Coffee Glow, told the commission she intends to operate Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; the city’s posted permit window for mobile vendors is 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Orozco said she will use a city commercial kitchen (the Collaborativa) for food preparation and that the truck will remain hitched to her vehicle so it can be moved after service.
Commissioners and Police Department staff asked about vehicle and operator licensing. Sergeant Star Chong, Chelsea Police Department, said he ran checks and found an active license status but noted a ‘‘non‑renewable’’ flag that Orozco should clear through the RMV website before wider operation. Chong said the department had no outstanding objections to the application once licensing issues are resolved.
Commissioner Emily Cherniack said the site is active during the requested hours and supported the application, and another commissioner made a motion to approve use of the designated spot. The motion carried by voice vote.
The commission’s clerk will follow up with the applicant on next steps, including confirmation of the parking permit and any outstanding RMV issues. The applicant was congratulated and told city staff would contact her with procedural details.
