A student reading a school resolution said the Milpitas Unified School District Board of Education on Oct. 14, 2025, adopted Resolution 2026.14 to recognize and honor the district's school administrators.
Teresa Tu, a student in Miss Mai’s Rancho ASB class, opened by introducing herself and saying the group had come to present the measure. "Hi, my name is Teresa Tu and I'm part of Miss Mai's Rancho ASB class. Today we are here to present you resolution 2026.14 recognizing and honoring our MUSD school administrators," she said as she read the resolution text to the board.
The resolution, as read to the board, describes school administrators as "passionate lifelong learners" and lists the positions the title encompasses, including principals, assistant principals, special education and adult education leaders, school business officials, classified education leaders, directors, supervisors, coordinators and assistant superintendents. The text states that most administrators begin their careers as teachers and that many have served in public education for more than a decade, with many district support leaders having more than 20 years of experience.
The reading cites the district's scale, saying administrators serve more than 12,000 Milpitas Unified students from preschool through adult education, and highlights the network of support administrators rely on: colleagues, teachers, classified staff, parents, students, businesses, community and faith-based organizations, elected officials and district staff.
The resolution designates the second full week of October as School Administrator Week and recognizes October as Principal Appreciation Month. It concludes with the board's adoption: the resolution text records that Resolution 2026.14 was "passed and adopted" by the Milpitas Unified School District Board of Education at its Oct. 14, 2025 meeting; the transcript records the adoption but does not provide the vote tally or names of movers and seconders.
The measure is ceremonial and honors the district's administrative staff; the transcript does not indicate any discussion, debate, amendment or public opposition during the reading and adoption. The board's next procedural steps or any follow-up actions were not specified in the transcript.
