The Ambridge Area School District board approved several personnel items at its April 8 agenda-review meeting. The board approved leaves of absence for two employees under board policy 435 (Family Medical Leave) with specified start dates and durations not to exceed 60 days. The board also approved an extended-school-year PAR educator assignment and several bus/van driver and attendant hires pending clearances and screenings.
For athletics, the board approved coaching appointments for the 2026–27 school year, including naming Nate Smith as the girls basketball head coach with a stipend of $6,000 and other middle-school coaching stipends as listed in the personnel packet. Motions covering items 3–7 were moved and carried by roll call.
Before the personnel votes, the board introduced Susan Daniel as the district’s new middle-school assistant principal; Daniel described her 25 years of teaching experience and 11 years as an assistant principal in Florida and said she was “very excited to be here.”
