Board approves personnel assignments and welcomes new Bowmont High assistant principal

Beaumont Unified trustees approved several personnel assignment orders and introduced the district’s new assistant principal for Bowmont High School during their Nov. 12 meeting.

The board approved certificated, classified and administrative personnel assignment orders dated Nov. 12, 2024. Several motions carried; the transcript records at least one abstention on a personnel vote. No detailed roll-call tallies were provided in the public record during the meeting.

The board also announced the appointment of Mr. Kai Lyes to the assistant principal position at Bowmont High School. Administrators described Mr. Lyes’s background (previously at Palm Springs Unified School District as assistant principal and athletic director) and his academic credentials. Mr. Lyes addressed the meeting and thanked trustees and staff for the opportunity, saying he was ‘‘ready to hit the ground running’’ and looked forward to working with Bowmont students and administration.

Trustees and administrators offered applause and welcomed Mr. Lyes; some family members attended in the room and one family member was connected remotely.

The board noted that personnel actions and appointments will be reflected in district records and personnel reports.
