For the Planning Commission the council ratified Mayor Madison's reappointment of James Nadell, Mayor Pro Tem Gardner's reappointment of Chris Wagstaff, Council Member Pitts's appointment of Theodore Parker, Council Member Pi's appointment of Robert Row, and Council Member Voss's appointment of Joseph Lombardo. Council members described nominees' experience in planning, construction and community service; several appointees appeared in person or by Zoom and offered brief remarks on their willingness to serve.
On the Public Safety Commission the council ratified a slate including the reappointment of Donna Lozano and appointments of Charles Lance, Mna Flores, Michael Rizo and Raldo (Ray) Sanchez. Council members highlighted appointees' public-safety experience, community ties and prior volunteer service. Charles Lance noted prior military and public-safety experience and thanked the council for the opportunity; Mr. Lombardo and others also offered brief remarks when invited.
The council moved and seconded the motions for each slate and approved them by unanimous roll call. Staff said newly ratified commissioners will be notified by the city clerk and will be advised of the timing of their first commission meetings and organizational details.
