New Providence marks officer swearing-in, honors volunteers and staff departures

The Borough of New Providence opened the meeting by swearing in a newly appointed officer named in the record as Nicholas (oath administered and repeated). Council members and attendees applauded the swearing-in.
The council presented a proclamation honoring Robert Moran for his service as a special law enforcement officer (SLEO), citing his career beginning in 1986 and his assignment at Alan W. Roberts Elementary School. Council later accepted Moran's written resignation as a Class 3 special law enforcement officer and authorized hiring to replace him.
Council also presented a proclamation to the Our Lady of Peace (OOLP) sandwich ministry and recognized Michael Savage and Reverend Francisco Medina; the proclamation noted that on March 24, 2025 the ministry reached a milestone of 300,000 sandwiches made and collected.
Council accepted the written resignation of Arlene Reagan, deputy director of community activities, recognizing her 17 years of service to youth and adult recreation programs and thanking her for contributions to the public art committee.
