Savannah council approves bucket truck purchase, gym-flooring contract and WW Law gym painting work

Council approved a contract authorizing the city manager to purchase one bucket truck from TX USA LLC (TX Utilities) for $337,438. The council also authorized a contract with Success Sports Surfacing LLC for installation of gym flooring and related upgrades in multiple community centers at a cost not to exceed $597,528.75.
Separately, after discussion about mold remediation, sequencing of work and community requests concerning archival photographs at WW Law, council authorized the city manager to execute a contract with Mosler/Moser LLC DBA Local to paint and treat the WW Law Community Center gymnasium interior (walls, ceiling, doors, mezzanine and handrails). Council members asked staff to confirm the order of painting and floor installation; staff indicated painting would occur prior to floor installation to meet a schedule targeting completion before the basketball season.
Each procurement motion passed by voice vote. Council members requested additional procurement packet detail (bidder names and evaluation summaries) for some local-sheltered bids and asked staff to provide standard procurement documentation to council.
