Washoe County demonstrates neighborhood development hub and community input portal to Gerlock CAB

Washoe County staff showed the Gerlock/Empire CAB how residents can use a new neighborhood development hub and community input portal to follow projects and provide early input.
Candy Ramos of Washoe County walked CAB members through county.gov's "Get Involved" section, the Gerlock/Empire CAB page, and a map‑based neighborhood meeting calendar. Ramos highlighted that the community input portal is being monitored weekly and that 64 people had already participated on the Gerlock page. "This is your page to put information as upcoming CAB dates, ways to engage," she said, and pointed to links for agendas, meeting archives and the ADU hub resources that staff referenced during the housing presentation.
Ramos said neighborhood meetings are required early in the development process and live calendar entries show upcoming events — she noted an Ison Ranch RV park neighborhood meeting and other district meetings planned for May. The portal includes contact links for commissioner district lookup, proclamation and invocation requests, volunteer opportunities (for boards and commissions), and a map to find neighborhood meetings and developer outreach.
Board members and residents asked whether meeting materials and the presentation slides would be archived; Ramos confirmed the PowerPoint and links are posted on the Gerlock/Empire CAB webpage and encouraged residents to use the portal to submit questions and requests in advance of CAB meetings.
The county staff presentation closed with an appeal to residents to use the portal to streamline input and find upcoming neighborhood meetings, and to reach county staff via the portal for follow‑up.
