HACAP reports LIHEAP served 365 households; ECIP funds for this period depleted

Hawkeye Area Community Action Program Director RenElla Crawford reported to the Washington County Board on May 5 that LIHEAP served 365 households this quarter totaling $165,560 in assistance and that 27 households received crisis assistance.
Crawford said ECIP (Energy Crisis Intervention Program) funds assisted 19 households with $20,497.34 in state funds and that an Alliant Hometown Care contribution of $3,485 supported eight households. The agency reported receiving ECIP funds last week but has since depleted the $150,000 allocation for this period and is currently out of assistance funds for the program.
Crawford also reported two funeral assistance requests in the quarter; one was approved for $2,000 and one was denied for exceeding income limits. The Board acknowledged the HACAP quarterly report (motion by Bob Yoder, seconded by Stan Stoops).
