Trustees adopt superintendent-evaluation tool and several policy updates, approve budget and LCAP

The Roseville Joint Union High School District board on June 11 approved a package of administrative and policy items that will shape district operations for the coming year, including a new superintendent-evaluation tool, updates to nondiscrimination and bullying policies, the district budget and the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).

After discussion, trustees adopted an evaluation cycle that adds quarterly check-ins between the superintendent and the board president with a formal report back to the full board. The board unanimously approved Exhibit B, the evaluation tool, which adds performance indicators such as community presence, equity and access standards and infrastructure/asset-management expectations.

The board also approved BP 0410 (nondiscrimination) and BP 1312.3 (uniform complaint procedures), citing alignment with Education Code requirements; BP 5131.2 (student bullying and related administrative regulations) was approved after discussion about definitions and jurisdiction over off-campus conduct that creates a hostile school environment. Trustees approved BP 6164 (guidance and counseling services) as part of the package.

On fiscal matters the board approved the district budget, reflecting an updated enrollment increase of roughly 92 students, and adopted the LCAP after a public hearing that produced no comments. Trustees also authorized a DAWN declaration to facilitate credentialing or emergency permits through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

All motions on these items carried on voice votes recorded as unanimous.
