Several residents used the April 8 citizens forum to press the City Council for fixes on local quality‑of‑life issues.
Sarah Warmoth of Cantwell Forest asked the council to improve traffic markings at I‑45 and Vision Parkway, to ensure candidate debates are fair and that city announcements be distributed by email in addition to social media. "The way it's marked is not clear," she said of the I‑45/Vision Parkway area, and urged the council to restore an email announcement list because "not everybody has Facebook."
Alex Warmoth presented a handout and described chronic backups on Vision Parkway and Grogan's Mill, saying those streets serve many Shenandoah residents and that some neighborhoods have a single egress. He suggested engineering fixes including a roundabout, additional stop signs, speed control measures, or a stoplight near Park Gate, and asked staff to coordinate with the traffic study lead.
Brenda Booth, who lives adjacent to the park, thanked the council for new park hours but said many people continue to use the park outside the posted times; she asked for signage closer to the basketball area and for the signs to be lit so they are visible at night to reduce after‑hours calls to the sheriff's office.
Separately, Councilman Robinson raised multiple resident complaints about trash collection service following a contract change. Robinson said some services residents relied on (heavy pickup frequency) have been reduced. Staff reported they have asked Republic Services for pricing to add a second bulk pickup day (one on the first collection day and one on the third) and said an amendment to the current contract is possible if the price change is within 25%; otherwise the city would need to rebid the contract.
Council did not take immediate action but directed staff to continue discussions with Republic Services and with the traffic-study lead and to report back when pricing and options are available.
