Red Bank council approves consent agenda, sets $35,000 escrow for redevelopment plan work

The Red Bank Borough Council voted unanimously on Oct. 10 to approve resolutions 25-207 through 25-212 on the consent agenda.
Council member Bonitakis, Council member Cassidy, Council member Facy Blackwood, Council member Forest, Deputy Mayor Trudiano and Mayor William Portman all voted yes on the roll call.
Among items discussed prior to the vote, staff explained that one action would set up an escrow in the amount of $35,000 for the borough's planner/consultant, BFJ Planning, to prepare a redevelopment plan for a designated rehabilitation area. Staff said it is common practice for the borough to require developers to cover consultant costs and that the escrow will be used to work through the redevelopment plan process.
Council members noted that planning board review and subsequent public steps remain part of the redevelopment process. No additional costs to the borough for the initial planning escrow were reported at the meeting.
The resolutions were approved as a package under the consent agenda; council did not separate any item for further debate at the meeting.
