The Meridian City Council approved a $260,000 FY2026 budget amendment on April 7 to complete the next phase of City Hall information-technology tenant improvements and later approved a guaranteed maximum price amendment to the Chrysenbeck LLC contract for the project.
Director Laura McVey (presenting the request) told the council the initial study and early construction produced savings and that Fire’s relocation work was complete and under budget; the new amendment would fund three offices and an additional cubicle in the IT area. McVey said the project had been bid and staff requested authorization to proceed with construction under the revised funding.
Council members praised project management and municipal staff for keeping the work on schedule and noted the potential for efficiencies if subsequent phases are contiguous. Council approved the $260,000 budget amendment by voice vote. The council also approved a guaranteed maximum price amendment for Chrysenbeck LLC (contract amount read in the meeting as $230,662) by voice vote.
What happens next: the contractor is authorized to proceed under the amended GMP and staff will manage procurement of furniture, contingency, and moving costs outside the contractor’s contract. The city indicated it would consider potential FY27 budget requests to complete remaining tenant improvements including the mayor’s office and community development office remodels.
