Macomb — The City Council approved awarding demolition work for up to 23 properties under the Strong Communities program, with the work funded through the grant.
Miranda, who presented the item, said this is the second round of demolitions under the Strong Communities grant. She told council two properties from the current list (424 West Wheeler and 638 North Campbell) have already been removed and that the final list will be set by June when the demolition window opens. Miranda said some owners remain in negotiations to remediate issues and a small number of properties could fall off the list prior to the demo window.
The council approved awarding the demolition contract to Stone King and Sons by roll call. Staff said the work will be paid through the Strong Communities program grant and that more details will be provided as the final list is prepared.
