The board also approved a retirement‑incentive proposal for eligible certificated, classified, management and confidential employees after staff described the rationale and fiscal effects. Staff noted the incentive could accelerate retirements and cause a loss of institutional knowledge while producing net budgetary savings over time; the board asked staff to monitor transitions and onboarding.
