Wildwood Crest council adopts fee, street-restoration and salary ordinances and approves multiple resolutions

At its regular meeting the Borough of Wildwood Crest adopted three ordinances on second and final reading (construction permit fees; restoration of excavated areas; salary ordinance), introduced two ordinances for June 25 public hearings, and unanimously approved a package of resolutions including a $44,450.80 equipment purchase and authorization to seek up to $4 million in financing.
The Borough of Wildwood Crest council voted unanimously to adopt three ordinances on second and final reading and approved a slate of resolutions and contracts during its meeting.
Ordinances adopted on second and final reading included Ordinance 1457, which amends permit fees under the borough—s uniform construction code; Ordinance 1458, which amends chapter 67 concerning restoration of excavated areas; and Ordinance 1459, the borough—s salary ordinance amending section 59-3. Each ordinance was opened for public hearing, saw no public comment, and was approved by roll call. Commissioners Schiff and Franco and Mayor Cabrera cast affirmative votes on each measure.
The council also introduced Ordinance 1460 (insurance requirements for wireless facilities in the public right-of-way) and Ordinance 1461 (regulation of traffic signals) on first reading and scheduled both for second and final reading and public hearing on June 25, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
Among the resolutions adopted were endorsement of the borough—s fourth-round housing element and fair-share plan; authorization of a proprietary purchase to Clean Air Company for a vehicle exhaust extraction system for public works not to exceed $44,450.80; and a resolution determining the details of up to $4,000,000 in general bonds and notes and authorizing sale through the New Jersey Infrastructure Bank and the State of New Jersey. Council members also approved the use of urban enterprise funds for additional planning work on the New Jersey Avenue streetscape project and an $18,000 increase to Acuity Consulting Services for affordable-housing planning and administrative-agent services for 2025.
Other adopted measures included appointment of Kathy Strob to the wellness committee for the remainder of 2025; rescission of resolution 25-163 in its entirety; establishment of a Wildwood Crest EMS ride-along volunteer program; authorization for a Time Clock Plus LLC service agreement for public-safety policy management software (mayor authorized to sign); authorization to submit and execute FY2025 and FY2026 New Jersey Department of Transportation grant applications for reconstruction of Denver Avenue (FY2025: Pacific Avenue to New Jersey Avenue; FY2026: Bayview Drive to New Jersey Avenue); and the appointment of one Class I police officer.
A final roll-call motion to pay all properly authorized bills was adopted. Where the transcript did not record a named mover or seconder for individual motions, the minutes show that motions were moved and seconded and that the roll-call votes were unanimous.
