Board signs multiple contracts, accepts bids and schedules budget hearing

(CSI) for $36,000 annually, with optional renewals for years four and five. Administration said the recommendation followed review and collaboration between nutrition services and facilities staff and noted a previously filled district position had been vacant.
- Propane fuel pricing (transportation): The board accepted Feral Gas’ proposal for propane fuel pricing for two years: $0.91 per gallon-equivalent in year one and $0.93 in year two. Presenters compared the new pricing favorably to prior years (about $1.10 and $1.17) and provided mileage comparisons (diesel ~6.1 mpg; propane ~3.77 mpg).
- Chiller replacement (Clifford H. Nalen Middle School): The board ratified an emergency purchase under policy F140P after a compressor failed on the chiller that had been scheduled for replacement; administrators noted the 12–14 week lead time required for new equipment and said funds were encumbered to secure early delivery so the school would be ready for the start of class.
- Cooperative bids for chemicals, lamination film, custodial equipment and consumables: The board approved recommended vendors from a 16-page cooperative bid tab to secure supplies for the upcoming school year.
- Other business: The board declared surplus items for disposition and scheduled the district’s required 2025–26 budget hearing for Friday, June 27 at 7:30 a.m.; administration said the budget PDF will be posted for public review prior to the hearing.
