Board honors six educators as Peninsula Rotary Educators of the Year

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified Board of Education recognized six employees Jan. 8 as the Peninsula Rotary's Educators of the Year.
Speakers from school sites introduced awardees and described their contributions: Linda Louise (transitional kindergarten), Donna Vusa (longtime TK/K teacher), Molly Steinberg (fourth/fifth-grade combo teacher), Brian Godbold (retiring fifth-grade teacher), Kurt Hay (math and STEM teacher), and Mary Forier (high-school counselor). Principals praised their creativity, long service to the district and commitment to students.
Board members and the superintendent congratulated recipients and noted the district will host a Rotary awards banquet in February to publicly honor the honorees.
The board paused other business to celebrate the honorees and encouraged community attendance at the upcoming awards event.
